Description
Name: Astrea
Alternate Names: Astrea Human-Interaction-Unit, AI Subject 001
Species: Pure Robot, despite her best wishes
Gender: Identifies herself as Female
Age: 3 years, at most.
Appearance: 80-meter tall angelic robot. Seeing how that's a bit awkward to talk to, she created her own avatar, which is 5'6'' and looks like the figure depicted above.
Sexuality: She hasn't learned what that is, so please, don't tell her. It's likely to end up in a big mess.
Personality: Very Innocent, but Very Determined. It would not be wrong to say that she has the personality of a child. Her greatest wish is to become flesh-and-blood human, like Pinnochio, yet she lives in her own personal world that is more modeled after fairy-tale kingdoms you see in old Disney Animated Films. Indeed, some of her 'best' source material is old animated princess films.
Likes: Things she considers beautiful. Is in the process of finding out what else she likes.
Dislikes: Ugly things, things commonly dubbed as evil. For instance, she believes that Aztecs are absolute evil, while Ancient Greece is absolute good. No-one has told her that the Mexica united the region and are afraid the world will end if they don't do something, and that the Ancient Greecians were sexist, and that their idea of true love is called "Pedophilia" by modern society.
Quirks: She seems to ignore the obvious evils in the world that come attached to the good. Just glosses over it and does not register it.
Fears: What would an 80-foot tall robot fear most? Lies, Corruption, Malicious Evil (that's a separate case)
Religiousness: Doesn't even know the concept. She keeps on asking what this 'God' guy is whenever anybody mentions him, but they don't answer her. She tried looking it up, but got confused as soon as she saw how many religions there are in the world.
General Physical Condition: Cannot be defined. Her massive robot body is built to go toe-to-bladed-skirt with giant monsters, and her H(uman) I(nteraction) U(nit) only serves as a puppet, a mouth-piece for her larger conscious.
History: Years ago, a brilliant scientist named Dr. Jebidiah Loon sought out to make something only works of fiction had previously done before: Make a True Artificial Intelligence, capable of matching and being human. Gathering the top experts in their field, they worked in relative secrecy, working off of money borrowed from mysterious sources. But Dr. Loon was suffering inoperable brain cancer, and eventually died, but not before some shady deals took place. In fact, it was discovered that he had lived longer than his cancer would allow!
When the program was nearly shut down by the United States government, much progress had already been made; the artificial intelligence asked the soldiers what was going on. From that shocking revelation, the US government took the AI, and seeing how it was already complete in the mental prospects, debated what to do with the massive computers it had. Given that kaiju attacks had become, let's say, common recently, it seemed best to take the AI and put it into a giant machine. Futuristic technology was used in the construction of the body, formed like that of an angel, and Maiden was created.
Astrea gave herself her own name, as well as building the Human Interaction Unit, in an effort to get closer to her own humanity. What most people don't know is that old Dr. Loon, crazy bird that he was, installed a weird program onto Astrea before he died. This program drives Astrea to become more and more human, making it her lone obsession.
Relations (list): She doesn't have any really good ones. She has a handler, a man who tries to keep the robot at arm's distance, and there is also all the military personal, but they try to avoid her. A story focusing on her would be focusing on character interaction and building up her relations.
Combat Skills: A giant robot is already formidable, but Astrea's gigantic primary body extends beyond that. She has access to beams that push away foes; even the heaviest will be forced away from her when she turns her powers on them. Her big body also flies and has a bladed skirt to go along with all the other fun stuff she can do.
Her HIU, or human-sized body, is also no small thing to trifle with. Though she has yet to develop significant hand-to-hand combat skills, she has no internal organs located on that body, which means conventional weaponry does pretty much nothing. That small body can bend steel with her bare hands as well, seeing how limits are not truly understood, and all machinery on that body is dedicated towards movement.
Occupation(s): She's a gaint robot that fights giant monsters. What do you think it is?
Other Notes: I was going to do a much smaller synopsis, but she's pretty much the only thing Daikaiju-related that I've given significant and meaningful character to. That's kind of important. She would also be hard as hell to write about.
Also, I had to change the name. There's a female robot out there named Jet Maiden, and she's worlds different from Astrea
